Professor King received his B.Sc.(Hons) degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Manchester, England in 1957 and his M.Sc. from the same University in 1958. In 1960 he was awarded the Ph.D. from Queens University, N. Ireland and in 1970 the D.Sc. also from the University of Manchester for his contributions to Systems & Control. He was formerly on the faculties of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University and City University of New York. He was appointed Professor of Automation and Robotics in the Division of Systems and Control of the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the University of Patras in Patras, Greece in 1990.
Professor King has served on the Editorial Board of the International Journal of Control and is a regular reviewer of IEEE journals, International Journal of Fuzzy Sets & Systems, Proceedings IEE, IEE Letters etc. He is the author of over 130 journal and conference papers and has contributed numerous chapters to technical books.
He is the author of six books in Greek entitled Computer Control (1994), Industrial Control (1996) both published by Papasotiriou, Athens, Computational Intelligence (1998 and 2002) published by Travlos, Athens, Measurement Systems (2002) and Industrial Informatics (2003) both published by Tziolas, Thessaloniki and Intelligent Control (2003) published by the University of Patras Press. He is the author of two books in English entitled Computational Intelligence in Control Engineering (1999) and Industrial Controllers (to appear in 2004) both published by Marcel Dekker Inc. N.Y.
