Scope
The symposium goals concern the development, the comparison and the
application of formal models, both descriptive and prescriptive, of
Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) systems. Proposed models should
be able to integrate both optimization methods, simulation procedures
and knowledge-based tools.
Target of the symposium activities will be the specification of new
models to be used in planning and simulating manufacturing, management
and control strategies, including discrete-event and continuous
representations.
Topics include:
-
Models and tools for plant layout design
-
Process and production planning
-
Models and tools for functional description of flexible manufacturing
systems
-
Oriented to production activity control
-
Process supervision and maintenance
-
